Lobster Pier: Stonington, Maine
The artist stands on the pier to paint
An ever changing sea.
He’s thrilled at the prospect of capturing
Dusk’s tranquil imagery.
The lobster boats shift from side to side
Each time he takes a fix.
The island, visible at five
Disappears at six.
The sun goes down, the fog rolls in.
The dock, it fades away.
The artist puts away his paint
To return another day.
Kathy’s husband Chris attended one of Lee’s workshops in Maine in August, 2005.
She wrote this poem for Lee.
